ABOUT US Home Technology Group has been providing quality products and services to San Antonio and surrounding areas since *1995. We are members of CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association) since 1997. In addition, we are members of the San Antonio Builders Association and U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Our professional staff consists of certified installation technicians, project managers, programmers and design professionals.
We are ready to serve you in your residential and commercial project needs.
Brief History
Home Technology Group was originally established from two separate companies, Innovations in Home Theater
which began in 1995 and Acoustic Designs
which began in 1996. HTG is a well diversified company providing design, sales, project management, custom installation and service in vast area of audio, video and technology.
While exploring opportunities for growth and consolidation, Innovations in Home Theater
and Acoustic Designs
merged in 2007 to form the Home Technology Group.
Although the initial projects consisted mostly of whole house audio and home theater, over the years as technology increased, our extensive portfolio increased to include such services as home automation, lighting control, video distribution and networking
Who We Are
Home Technology Group is a full scale design, project management and installation company. We serve in many markets and include residential, commercial, institutional, educational and hospitality sectors.
Our business philosophy is primarily based on our team's personal and collective abilities to accomplish the targeted objectives in the design and management of the project. We treat each project individually, therefore customizing the design or PM solutions as desired by our clients. Our chart plan is designated based on project targets, budget, completion time and project uniqueness.
Although our techniques and methods used in accomplishing the project goals may look complicated, the foundation of our system is a simple one; understand the client's need and requirements of the project and act towards the following:
- Prepare proposal describing the plan of action
- Proceed to design and project management process
- Coordinate all functions desired
- Deliver desired results
Most of Home Technology Group's clients are either repeat clients or referred clients emphasizing our belief that "word of mouth" is the best advertising

Partnership:
Steve Quinney~ Steve began his career in the audio/video field in 1993. Realizing the exciting opportunities in the A/V industry, he began his own installation company in 1996. Acoustic Designs quickly became a favored and exclusive partner to many builders such as Monticello Homes, Jim Boles Custom Homes plus numerous architects and designers. Steve continues to expand his referral base with his reputation at creating value engineered systems and follow up service. Steve has numerous certifications through continuing education programs.
Zoltan "Oli" Gulyas~ Oli Gulyas began his A/V career shortly after being honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in the mid-80's. He was employed at a highly respected audio/video store in San Antonio for nearly 10 years as an installation technician and quickly rose to lead technician. He was presented an opportunity in 1995 to start his own business, Innovations in Home Theater. iHT soon went from a humble 1,100 sq. ft. store to 2,700, and then nearly 7,000 sq. ft. store located at Thousand Oaks and 281N in a span of just 12 years. In early 2007, Oli realized his business had grown substantially more in the "custom" market vs.
direct "retail" and he could no longer give custom projects the proper attention they deserved. He collaborated with Steve and they soon formed a new partnership in July 2007, Home Technology Group. Oli and his top employees moved their operations into Steve's recently enlarged showroom.

Employees~ Home Technology Group's lead technicians average over 9 years in this industry. Unlike some of the mass retailer technicians, our technician's experience comes from classroom instruction with hands-on training, apprenticeship, on the job training and industry sponsored out of state certification. Our lead technicians have even furthered their careers on their own time and expense such as online universities and local colleges. The mass merchant technicians frequently get their experience from reading brochures and instruction manuals and in-home trial-n-error. We pride ourselves on investing in our employees to ensure the project gets completed in the correct manner and on time.
Home Technology Group employs registered and certified designers, project managers, CAD drafters, administrators, field inspectors, installation technicians and other support personnel.
Throughout the years, our biggest strength came from hiring and retaining highly qualified personnel who are also excellent team players. We, at Home Technology Group, take great pride in our work from start to finish and stand behind our entire work.
Our hiring and training practices are designed towards empowering our employees regardless of their positions or responsibilities.
